Mission Statement

We provide foster youth and adoptees a free boutique shopping experience while supporting and bringing awareness to small businesses.

 

What We Do 

99% of the time, foster children come into foster care with only the clothes on their back. So, we want to provide to them new handmade/small business items at no cost to them.

We are an official 501(c)3 nonprofit. Our goal is to make sure that no child is overlooked and that they have something they can call their own. Our services are 100% free to foster families and foster children.

We operate solely on donations and financial support from YOU.

How Are We Different?

How are we different from traditional foster care closets? Traditional foster care closets receive donated used clothing and items or big box store bought items if the funds are available.

We provide BRAND NEW, HANDMADE items from small businesses, so we can 1.) give these children something brand new that they may not have otherwise; and 2.) support small businesses who truly care about their product.

Krystal Pierson - Founder & Executive Director

Krystal Created Blue Sky Collective by combining her 2 passions: foster care awareness and small business awareness. Krystal is the owner of Fost & Found Design Co., a small apparel business. She loves to shop small and helps support small business in any way she can. She has also been a licensed foster parent for 6 years with her husband. Together, Krystal and her husband have 2 daughters that they adopted from foster care. She advocates for foster youth, biological families, and foster parents as much as possible.

Fun facts: Krystal loves all things music, especially musical theatre. If she can sing or dance to it, it’s for her. Krystal is obsessed with Harry Potter, Originals, coffee, and all things Disney.

 

 

Danielle Rhoden - President

Danielle holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing from Keiser University and is currently a stay-at-home mom of two amazing kids. Danielle has always been inspired by organizations doing great work and helping small businesses succeed—just a couple of reasons she’s excited and honored to take part in advancing the mission of Blue Sky Collective.

Fun Facts: Danielle loves fitness and working out, which led her to become an independent Zyia Active Representative. She enjoys traveling and taking vacations/staycations, especially to Disney World. And probably wouldn’t be able to function without Starbucks!

 

 

Monica Combee - Secretary

Monica Combee has a degree in elementary education from Southeastern University. She has a passion for education and is using her degree to be a elementary school teacher, mentor, tutor, and cheerleading coach. She believes every child is special and destined for greatness. She is motivating and engaging with students to make sure they really understand what is being taught. Monica loves to volunteer and do community work. Monica and her husband have identical twin boys. They love to travel and go out as a family.

Fun facts: Monica loves anything Disney related. Her family is a star wars home. She loves the nutcracker play and Christmas is her favorite holiday.

 

 

 

Breanna Daggett - Treasurer

Breanna holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida. She was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and enjoys being outside and living a fit lifestyle. She is married with two dogs. She is committed to helping others. Fun facts: Bre loves to go shopping and is obsessed with Vera Bradley! Name a print and she most likely has it!
